August 2019

We were in Sprouts shopping on a crowded day. As I walked past a little girl who was pretty chunky I knew that we wouldn't be able to pass by without Peter making a comment. Sure enough, in his clearest 3 year old voice right as we were stuck in a traffic jam next to her he said, "Mom, do you see that chubby little girl? She's so cute. Look at her chubby cheeks. Do you see them mom??" I knew nothing would stop him so I just commented on how pretty her hair was and tried to shove past them quickly.

In Peter's prayers lately he says "Please help Mommy and Daddy to be happy and to be nice to me."

Lamoni took me to a fancy pizza restaurant for our 7th anniversary and arranged for a couple of our friends to meet us there. Then we walked around Uptown and got Frost ice cream

An outside dance party with Katheryn and Nathaniel.

I did a peach pickup for my mom while she was in Minnesota. This was what happened while I was busy. Plus all the peach juice covering my floor from Peter walking around eating peaches.

The boys sold the leftover peaches for grandma and she let them keep the profit. They earned money for a family fun night so we got pizza and went to see Pets 2.

At an Isotopes baseball game. We just happened to run into Jarrett and Katheryn there. Peter was done with it before we even sat down.

The Young Men at church had a campout and crawdad boil the next day. Ew but cool to see. They caught over 700 crawdad the night of the campout!

July 2019

We went to the 4th of July parade in Corrales. It had such a patriotic small-town feel that I think it will become a tradition.

At the Opryland hotel in Nashville. Charity watched the boys so we turned a conference into a couple's getaway.

Joy and Grace had just visited the Parthenon, so we decided to show them up and send our own pictures. (There is a full-scale replica in Nashville).

He still insists on riding his tiny little trike instead of the balance bike we got him for his birthday.

When Peter is late for his nap.

Grandma's cute new haircut.

Some habits die hard.

One of my former students was home for the summer and offered swim lessons at her house. I signed the boys up. Benjamin officially can swim and I've decided that Peter is not ready for piano lessons with a teacher.

Everything he said was along the lines of "I can't do that. I don't want to do that. No. I won't." It was kind of fun to watch him say that to a student who I heard similar things from when I was her teacher. :-)

Peter LOVES his baby Liam. He screams and throws fits if anyone else tries to touch my stomach.

Benjamin making rice crispy treats to sell.

Haircuts! Finally! Yay! Benjamin didn't get the part in the movie he had applied for, so we cut it the night we found out. They had thousands of kids apply. He made the cut to 400 but not the cut to 40. Grandma and Bampa applied, though, and made it in, so it'll be so fun for the grand kids to see their parents in the Book of Mormon movies our church is making!

Look at these faces on Peter:

Such a handsome boy!

Playing dead

Lamoni and Benjamin brought some cards the youth had made at church to the children at the hospital. They like to pretend to be native hitchhikers whenever I pick them up.

Peter has entered the coloring stage and it's so cute.

Peter occupies himself so well while Benjamin and I practice.

I'm not allowed to throw out any boxes. The boys make all kinds of things in the yard and then it looks like we have a junk yard in the back after it rains and is windy.

Our zoo opened a penguin exhibit that has been a hit with the boys.

Peter drew "lots and lots of lightsabers"

Benjamin made Peter's costume and told him to stand like Batman. This is the pose we got.
