Peter 2 months

Sleep: He sleeps 4-6 hours straight at night in a bedside co-sleeper. After that I nurse him in bed around 3 a.m. and he sleeps with me til 6-7 when he eats again. During the day he sleeps in 2-3 hour chunks and then is up for 1-2 hours. He still sleeps about 18 hours in a 24 hour period I would guess.

Eating: He eats every 3 hours like a clock (except at night). He only nurses a total of 10-20 minutes usually which is weird for me since Benjamin would eat 1.5 hours til I stopped him!

Personality: Very easy-going and peaceful. He's patient with Benjamin and puts up with most things he does to him.

Likes and dislikes: He likes when the car is going and cries when it stops. He likes when we sing to him and cluck our tongue. He does not like to be held when he's tired (usually). He LOVES his swing that Aunt Kathy got him and stares up at the mirror on it until he dozes off. He takes his naps in there or in his rock and play. He tries to grab at things but isn't quite there yet. He has started sucking on his thumb.

Development: He holds his head up, follows noises and people with his head, and looks back and forth between people. He imitates cooing (when he's in the mood) and has clucked his tongue in response a couple of times. He smiles often and will laugh sometimes.

Size: When I weighed him a couple of days ago he was 15 1/2 pounds! He has been off the charts for weight the majority of his life. He is currently wearing 9 month pajamas, but most of his clothes are 6 months. I just moved him up to size 3 diapers because he was leaking out of his size 2 almost every time. Size 3 works great. I'm pretty sure Benjamin was a size 3 (maybe 4?) when he potty trained and Peter is in the same size at only 2 months old! He is even bigger than Benjamin was as a baby which I didn't think was possible.

Peter has stayed with Charity while I went visiting teaching, Grandma Melinda also for visiting teaching and Grandma Kara for our anniversary. I'm surprisingly not that nervous to leave him. Maybe because he's such an easy, predictable baby. He draws crowds everywhere we go. I forgot what it's like to be the escort of a celebrity.

July 2016

And that will be the last time I leave the baby soap within his reach...

Trying to get Peter to smile.

Look at these rolls!! And only 1.5 months!

Brother time

I don't remember what we were coming home from, but I like this picture.

Benjamin dresses himself most days and alternates between his Captain America and Batman shirt. There are many tears on the days that his shirts are in the wash.

Benjamin was flipping pancakes for me while I was on the phone and he got his first burn! :-( He refused to let me put water or ice on it (we didn't have any milk). Only kisses. He's a great pancake maker, though!

We've loved having Lamoni around all summer!!

He doesn't melt against me like this very often anymore. :-(

We went to visit Nobuko!

I tried on clothes at The Limited just for fun. This adorable outfit cost $100. It will be nice when I can get it. :-)

Play group at the splash pad. This is the one spout that he will play with. The rest of them get in his eyes. Whenever other children would try to play in "his" spout he would glare at them til they left.

I walked into the room one day to this. It makes me happy!

I made Olive Garden's gnocchi soup. It was delicious but I think it's cheaper and faster just to go to Olive Garden!

We got a good laugh out of this picture.

Story time at the library. Look at him studiously coloring. He recently started coloring in the lines! Here is what he colored:

We enjoy having Katheryn over while Charity teaches.

He thought his hairdo was pretty funny from the water gun and his hat.

This is how we party it up after the kids go to bed - take out the Halloween and Easter candy we confiscated months ago!

This is the second time a blowout happened on me that day. And that is when we decided to move up to size 3 diapers.

Randomly out of nowhere Benjamin had a really rough couple days where he got all his naughtiness out from the whole year. I guess there was a lot built up since he has been such a good 2 year old! Here he is cleaning off the crayon from all over his bedroom walls. He also got the living room.

We spent one Saturday taking the Turquoise Trail behind the Sandia Mountain. We spent most of the time in Madrid, an adorable ghost-town turned art-town. We stopped in Cerillos afterwards to see what was there. This "children's playground" had multiple signs advertising it throughout the town. We laughed when we saw it but had a lot of fun.

Louisville

We drove to Louisville, Kentucky for a business training earlier in the month. Peter was only 5 weeks old so I was a little nervous about the 18 hour drive (plus stops and time change) but he did great! We drove with Faith and Jason and we rarely had to stop for Peter's sake (actually, I think only once). Grace came to watch him in the mother's room so I could be in the meeting between feeding him.

Starting the long drive. This is how he was the whole time except when he woke up to eat!

I pumped in the car and then fed him a bottle so we wouldn't have to stop. This is how much milk I got (8 ounces) in about 5 minutes! It's no wonder why Peter is as chunky as he is.

It was nice to have some couple's time.

The muffins I made for the trip. I got a little carried away...

We got invited to share a little bit about a program that we have been doing that has been going well. That was fun to do in front of about 1,000 people!

In the mother's room. I thought I got a picture with Grace holding him but I guess not!

Meanwhile, Benjamin was at Charity's house having a blast:

They took him to Hinkle Family Fun Center, where I guess he was a hit with the arcade because he got enough tickets to win a baseball bat/ball and a skateboard - both of which he had been wanting.

Thrilled that they both were wearing their batman shirts.

Charity took him to a friend's birthday party.

We leave the house spotless when we go out of town because I don't like to come home to a mess. It obviously doesn't last long - this was at 10 a.m. the next morning!
