August 2022

Yet another month where I uploaded the pictures backwards! So here is August from the end towards the beginning.

I was just telling someone this story from when Peter was 3 or 4, and they asked if I wrote it down, and I can't remember! So it's totally random, but Benjamin had made a batmobile from a birthday lego kit and Peter wanted a piece from the middle of it for a creation he was making. When we were downstairs he was upstairs totally dissembling the car to get the piece he wanted. While Benjamin sobbed and we reprimanded Peter, he very sadly said "my brain said, 'don't do it!' but my body did it."

Our homeschool group took the Railrunner to Santa Fe to go to a museum. Liam was infatuated with the mountains and took the train very seriously, as you can see from his face.

Our homeschool group also went on a camping trip to Bandelier.

On the way back all the boys were asleep within 2 minutes.

The boys were really tired and tried to take naps after we put the tent away.

The highlight was hiking down the canyon and up the big cave.

Look how cute these boys are!!

We got a 10 person tent since we accepted the fact that we now camp. It was so nice to have a bunch of room.

On our way camping while we all smelled good and were clean.

At Urban Air

Liam officially entered the costume stage and it's been a blast!

I peaked into primary and snuck this picture of Benjamin.

More Batman. When he's done he takes off the costume and says "I just want to be Liam!"

The boys built the Eiffel Tower

Benjamin has amazing focus during practice!

We had a seminary swim party at the Craig's house

The boys have been working for Grandma's produce business all summer. Peter finally was deemed old enough to help and could even carry boxes of peaches for customers (and only dropped 1 box!).

I'm now trading lessons with Ava for dinner once a week since it was too much for Dalea. I'm so happy to not have to cook dinner once a week and it's always so healthy.

Our luggage for Lake Winnie

Benjamin and Jocelyn

The way back home from Minnesota was SO LONG. Especially since Liam doesn't sleep well in the call. We drove the 24 hours straight. It was a big change since we took 3 days to get up there.

All the girls and sister-in-laws in our family.

The 5 of us girls. It was so fun to be back together.

Such fun cousin time all week!

Grammy gave us all the toys that we played with at her house when we were kids (and that her kids played with - at least Uncle Marty).

My parents with all their grandkids (minus the oldest 2).

Joseph and Nicky. We love her!

Liam and Brooke hit it off towards the end of the week. Liam bossed her around and she giggled and thought it was adorable. He calls her "My Brookie". Probably because Peter still calls Uriah "My-Riah".

"Now crawl under the tunnel Brookie!"

There was a lot of dunking. Joseph got me. So Lamoni got Joseph, so then Joseph got Lamoni...

We went to the pool every day except for 1 rainy day!

The fish that my dad and Lamoni (and Joseph and Nicky I think) caught with the guide.

We took the small car to Minnesota because it gets close to 40 miles per gallon and the gas prices have been insane.

We visited Liberty Jail and stayed the night in Kansas City.

We went to Worlds of Fun Amusement and Water Park in Kansas City. It was a major hit.

Benjamin was tall enough to go on all the scariest rollar coasters and he did them all!

Liam loved every ride he was able to go on.

We stopped in Oklahoma City the first day and stayed the night with my college friend, Meagan. She had come to visit earlier this year and the kids really hit it off so it was fun to get together again.

We always have to stop at the car museum on the way out of New Mexico.

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary with our earlier trip to Nauvoo and then a fancy dinner on our anniversary.
