October 2018

One of the projects Benjamin made in his art class - it's an ephod from the Old Testament, with a stone representing each of the tribes of Israel.

Fun park times when Katheryn's with us.

Benjamin is always creating things. Here is a batman cape. He does all of his art projects himself - he'll spend multiple hours straight on them and never asks for help.

The balloons one morning during the balloon fiesta on our way to UNM for cello group class.

Watching General Conference on the projector.

The boys drew a picture of one of the apostles, put it on the wall and then sat there watching it, just like we were doing. :-)

Here's one of the pictures they put up on the wall at one point - I think it's President Nelson.

Lamoni got in a car accident (slid right into the car in front of him during a rainstorm). It totaled his Corolla, which he absolutely was NOT heartbroken about. He had been hoping it would get stolen so he'd have an excuse to get another car. We were stuck on a Honda Accord and found a 2015 that we liked in Santa Fe.

Benjamin's birthday party - we made dinosaur cupcakes and had his primary class and family over.

Our present to him was a big kid bike and helmet.

There's a fun candy store at one of our malls. We let the boys each get a bag and pick out 5 pieces of candy (I think it ended up being 10...) for his birthday.

I came outside to this one afternoon. Peter does not like to be in wet clothes but likes to get wet.

First road trip in our new Honda. It gets around 40 mpg on the interstate so it's a great traveling car! I can't remember where we were headed.

Mel was running for magistrate judge in the Farmington area, so we went up there a few weekends to help campaign. He lost, but it was a great family experience.

Playing with cousins at a campaigning event.

We stopped for a visit with Grandma Mary on the way back.

The boys had soooo much fun with their Halloween costumes all month. I think Benjamin ended up being a super hero on Halloween, but liked this tiger costume too.

At Free Enterprise Celebration we ran into Frank Mazzeo.

Another art project. He made a ninja turtle costume.

Our church congregation's annual pie contest. I'm the primary president over the children and we help to put on the dinner, pie contest, trunk or treat and carnival. It's such a fun event.

Trunk or treat at the church.

Playing games at the carnival.

Benjamin at the dress up concert for his cello group class at the University.

Audrey and Michael are engaged and she so kindly offered to teach the boys to swim. In the few lessons they got from her before they got married, they went from being petrified of the water (Peter) and refusing to get their faces wet (Benjamin) to swimming short distances under water!

One Sunday Lamoni stopped by my parents house to get something and lost Peter. He was so scared and was about to call me and the police after searching high and low for him. Look where he eventually found him - in the dryer...with the cat.

A student of mine had given these lambs to the boys and they are their special animals they always sleep with now.

Family Home Evening pumpkin carving.

We hosted trick or treating this year with all the cousins on my side (and a couple of friends). We had dinner beforehand and then went out together. It was a blast. Lamoni and I were called "boring" because we were the only ones who didn't dress up.
