April 2024

Rebecca turned 3 months yesterday!

At 2 months old she smiles, laughs, engages with people, and stands on her legs on our lap. She even sleeps through the night! I usually feed her between 9-11 pm and most nights I have to wake her up at 5:30 am to feed her before I go to seminary. Some nights she gets up at 3:30 or 4:30 to eat but only eats on one side then goes right back to sleep. She's content and peaceful, and will happily sit in her bouncy seat and watch the practicing and commotion around her. She will also go to sleep on her own - the textbook child of "put your baby down drowsy but not asleep." She sleeps in a rock and play. She doesn't do well in her bassinet on her back as I think she has some reflux and gags in discomfort when not at an incline. Her favorite thing is to be in her swing with soft blankets and stare and smile at herself in the mirror above it. She is such an easy-going baby and brings joy to so many people. She lets herself be passed around to everyone. On Sundays I barely get to see her! There's always a crowd around her like she's a celebrity too. I dress her up like she's a doll, and often she only wears an outfit once because I have so many cute clothes and bows for her. She looks like a princess on Sundays. The ward members and friends have spoiled and taken good care of us.

Lamoni has been very busy with his bishop calling at church. It's been a rough transition this month - I took back all my students, subbed a couple concerts with the New Mexico Philharmonic, I'm back to teaching seminary at 6 am, and I don't really see Lamoni at all on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Those make for some long days. Between practicing and homeschooling the boys and having a 4 year old who thinks he's an only child, I've felt like I'm drowning. I know it will get better though! I just have to figure out what to cut back on...

Every night Lamoni and the boys, Jarrett and his kids, and Joy get together and play Dungeons and Dragons.

Snuggles with students

Liam rarely colors. He dictates to the boys what to color for him "because they do it better." My cousin so sweetly sent him these stickers in the mail since Grammy used to do that, and all on his own he created this picture!

Homeschool tour of the Roundhouse in Santa Fe.

We walked around the Plaza afterwards.

It's always a fun adventure taking the train to Santa Fe.

Getting as much time as possible with the Craig girls before they move!

Anniversary dinner with Becca.

Benjamin often holds her while doing his schoolwork.

Flag football. Sooo cold!

Benjamin got an Explora mommy date on his own. It was fun to do anything he wanted instead of whatever Liam wanted...

Watching General Conference

Cute outfit from Grandma Kara!

Liam decorated my birthday cake for me!

We had a historical solar eclipse. This is a picture through my eclipse glasses on my phone.

I so hope Rebecca will have Peter's curly hair, and this whisp is giving me hope!

Seminary class

Liam's current obsession is rockets, and he can build some pretty good ones that even detach. He knows which parts come off in what layers of the atmosphere and will act it out for anyone who will watch.

Always admirers!

I go on a walk every week with this baby's mom and our babies. She and I took a baby class together and our girls were born just days apart.

Not many blow out diapers, but this was a good one!

Peter loved all my old trophies.

Blasting off little rockets at homeschool group. Lamoni got to come since he was still part time at work. 12 weeks off this year for the baby was a big blessing!

I try to go on a walk every evening with her.

Always a baby holder available during the Craig's piano lessons.

Liam can play his pretwinkle  songs on viola all by himself now.

The boys went into Smiths by themselves to buy some Annie's fruit snacks. They were so proud of themselves, and I was so grateful I could stay in the car with a sleeping baby!

Joy School salt art.

Rebecca is easily entertained watching the boys practice.

Look how good Peter is getting at drawing!

Another visit from Grandma and Bampa in April.

Birthday dinner for a friend.

Cute dress and shoes from Grandma Sam.

Benjamin spoke in stake conference (church with hundreds of people). He put in hours preparing for it, and lots of people thought that Lamoni or I had written it because it was so well done.
