Michigan Family Reunion and Wedding - September 2019

Benjamin had been on a bunch of flights as a baby, but our flights to Michigan were his first that he was aware of. You should have heard him as we took off on the first flight! He was so excited. He start yelling "here we go! HERE WE GO! Peter look out the window! WOOOOOOOWWW!" etc. For anyone who knows how quiet and reserved Benjamin is you know he must have been *really* excited to show it. Peter was thrilled too. Mostly about the lollipops they got at takeoff and landing to help their ears pop.
In the top left hand corner is where Peter opened the emergency door as we were waiting to board and set off a blood-curdling alarm that lasted at least 10 minutes. Nobody could hear any of the announcements. Everyone in the gate cheered when it finally went off.

Peter slept through every flight.

We flew with Grandma, Bampa and Mariah. Faith and Jason also flew and we happened to end up at baggage claim in Detroit at the same time! That was a fun surprise.

We rented a large house where everyone could stay together.

One of the days we went to Frankenmuth, MI, which is a German town and has the largest Christmas store in the world (so they say)

There is a replica of the Silent Night church.

We spent 2 hours in the Christmas store and then were done. Everyone else was there for a couple more hours. The store went on and on. It would've been really cool if I were into decorating. :-)

Frankenmuth had such a fun downtown.

We spent a day helping to set up Lamoni's sister, Kalli's wedding. It was in a barn in a beautiful area. It was sooo hot and muggy even in September!

We toured this lighthouse together. There were beautiful views from the top.

Benjamin climbed all the way to the top (and I did too at 30 weeks pregnant!). Peter waited at the bottom with Uncle Jason and Brooke.

Sister picture!

Then we played on the beach of Lake Huron. That's Canada on the other side!

Peter was a little cautious of the coldish water.

The kids had a fun time with the bartender while we were getting set up.

The barn looked amazing by the time we were all done! It is a working barn and looked like it when we started!

The ceremony took place outside.

Peter had a fun time occupying himself.

I love this picture of Benjamin. It shows just how much fun he had. His happiest times are probably with his cousins (and brother of course).

Lots of dancing. We left after people's dancing showed just how much alcohol had been consumed...

We did lots of driving in our week there. We took turns in the squishy seat between the carseats.

We stopped at the Detroit temple on Sunday.

Peter *really* wanted to go in.

The flight back!
