September

Peter is 16 months old. He dances all the time and likes to walk backwards. His vocabulary is growing every day. He can now copy simple words we say. Some of the new ones include: moon, stars, teeth, dance, shoes, did it, there it is. He is the jokster in the family and loves to laugh. He jabbers and thinks he converses with us (and anyone who's around him). Most of his sentences end with laughing. He loves to call Lamoni and talk to him on the phone. He also likes to Facetime with Grandma and Bampa. He talks and talks and talks to them.
When he hurts himself he comes to me whining and points to whatever he hurt. I kiss it once or twice (he keeps it in front of me til he's satisfied) and then he runs off happily.
We are still working on not hitting. He knows now it's wrong but that doesn't always stop him. Luckily he doesn't bite anymore. He LOVES Benjamin and wrestles with him, as well as smothers him with hugs and kisses. Benjamin eats it up. This morning I heard Benjamin yelling from the living room "Mommy, Peter is ruining my liiiiiife!" Right then I heard a bang and Benjamin was crying. Peter threw a hard toy at him. A couple minutes later they were hugging and kissing again.
I usually sport at least 1 or 2 scratches on my face from Peter attacking it, but just as viscious as he can be, is as sweet as he usually is. When I sing him a song at night-time he hugs my neck, squishes his cheek up against mine and kisses me about 10 times during the song. He goes down for naps and night without fussing at all. He loves his crib.
He still nurses every couple hours. He's not a big fan of food. Besides fruit, his favorite things to eat are beans and lentils. He'll eat pasta too, but not much else. He usually sleeps through the night now, but will wake up a couple times to nurse if he's hungry (usually because he refused to eat anything for dinner).
Wrestling is a daily activity

Peter can eat half a cantaloupe on his own.

Cello class. It's so much better to have 9 a.m. class than last year's 8 a.m. class.

Playing on the stairs at UNM is a fun activity after class. Last Saturday the boys both decided it was too cold, though.

Sweet Peter

Benjamin gets 2 books before nap and 2 books before bed at night.

Hosting Joy School. Note that Peter has a mat. He occasionally sits on it but really enjoys grabbing whatever is up front.

Look at Peter's face! The kids were telling silly dad jokes and Peter would laugh at each one.

One of the rare times Benjamin fell asleep in the car. It had to be documented.

Look at those blonde curls!

Lamoni enjoys playing and singing and I enjoy listening to him.

Benjamin has been going to physical therapy every week since May for his flat feet. They work on strengthening his toes, feet, ankles and calves, so he doesn't put all his weight on the inside of his feet. One of the things that helps is to rock climb barefoot. We go to Climbing Tree Therapy, which is specifically for kids and Benjamin has a blast. This picture is at a park, though...

A Park Above

Typical. Benjamin riding and Peter pushing.

At the zoo looking at the lions I think.

Labor Day hike on the Sandia mountain. Benjamin hiked the entire thing!

Peter walked for the last bit when it was flat. He wanted a walking stick just like Benjamin. And Benjamin had a walking stick because Lamoni had one.

At the Vista del Norte Park. We would go there often, hoping to move to that subdivision. We talked to lots of people there about the neighborhood and how they liked it. We finally got a house there and close on November 3rd!!

Our annual state fair adventure. We went during the day with Grandma, Charity, Jarrett, and Katheryn. Lamoni was at work, but he wasn't too sad. ;-) It was so nice having them there to help with the boys. I don't think I would've gotten any pictures otherwise.

Peter, trying to kiss the goat. :-0

Old MacDonald's Farm. It's a quiet, secluded part of the fair that is a perfect interactive place for kids this age. It's probably our favorite part.

And of course we had to stop by the barns to get a refreshing chocolate milkshake.
