Zoo time. Don't ask what the monkey is doing...

Visit to Grandma Mary on the reservation

This is usually two feet from where I teach and how I get through the day. :-)

Fun at the mall playground.

Current obsession = Being on,in and under things

Salt Lake City

We buy the dough and dressing from Dion's and then make our own dinner! I'm the salad maker and Lamoni is the pizza chef.

Thanksgiving

We went to Salt Lake City for Thanksgiving this year and stayed with Lamoni's sister, Courtney. It was fun to see her, her three kids, Deruchette and her son and Mel and Melinda who caravaned with us. Unfortunately on the day we were leaving Benjamin was not acting himself at all and ended up getting a high fever. That was Sunday. We were all sick in bed for the week after. A double ear-infection (Benjamin), Bronchitis (Lamoni) and sinus infection (me). Not fun. It's one of those seemingly never-ending sicknesses. Poor Benjamin wasn't happy or playing for almost a week! He was either sleeping, coughing or whimpering and just laid around. :-( So unlike him. I think it's his first "real" sickness. Once before he had a mysterious fever but no other symptoms and then a sore throat on the way to Lake Winnie. Nothing like this, though. I have canceled 4 days of lessons, on top of the lessons I canceled for our Utah trip on top of not teaching Christmas week. Not good!
The good news is that Lamoni has finals next week! Yay! Only 1 semester to go til his Bachelor's degree. He has been working on his Master's application. He also starts his 20 hour/week unpaid practicum in January, which he will continue til the end of his Master's. It's a good thing I can teach from home!

Benjamin discovered his belly button last week. It was cute while he was sick he always had a finger in his belly button. He also still likes his eyelashes and will keep his fingers on them and open/close his eye.

He really likes the Christmas decorations. As soon as he wakes up in the morning he wants to go see the "tree." He points "up up up" to the manger so he can give baby Jesus a kiss and then proceeds to point me to all the pictures of Jesus in the house. He is getting good at communicating. We can figure out most of what he wants through his signs or sounds he makes. The sounds are getting closer and closer to the actual words e.g. up is uh uh while pointing up and down is nn nn pointing down.

Helping me make waffles. He likes to stir and dump things for me.

Daddy time

The favorite box ride. The best toy ever.

Trying to get a picture of him in his beanie for Lamoni but he was fussy. I said "say hi to daddy!" so he was looking for daddy.

Shopping in style.

Yes, I resorted to something I hoped I'd never do - strapping him to his high chair and turning on "doggy cartoons". I was pretty desperate, though, because I was accompanying 2 full recitals and long piece in a 3rd recital and I had to learn my music! He loves the piano so much that whenever I sit at it he wants to be there too...not the most efficient way to learn music. I only did it a couple times, though. :-) Here he is leading the music to the intro.
