May 2020

Peter quotes:
I like cow but I don't like beef.

I want chicken salad! I want chicken salad! No, not that chicken salad! Chicken salad with beef (taco salad haha)

(Stay-at-home-order Day gazillion) Me: Peter, you can watch any movie that you want to! What do you want? Toy Story? Cars? Ratatouille? PJ Masks? Magic School Bus?
Peter: Sound of  Music.
Me: Really? How about Peter Pan? Tarzan? Monsters Inc.....
Peter: No! Just Sound of Music.

Another of Peter's drawings. It's a little gory. The red and white line is "Snidly Snidely Snake", a book that we have. The people are bad guys killing the snake. So Peter.

Joy made us masks to use. I took Peter to the store with me. It's the first time he's been out somewhere in a couple months!

Up at the pond by our house.

The boys have been playing with legos for hours each day.

Typical Peter picture - costume on, sticker on his forehead, eating produce.

We had just bought a membership to a trampoline park when COVID shut everything down. We considered buying a trampoline, but firmly decided against it because we just don't have the yard for it. Well, right after that firm decision was made, Charity told me a neighbor in her congregation was trying to get rid of their 14 foot trampoline quick so they could move. Long story short, we got a trampoline. :-) It actually fit perfectly on the gravel on the side of our house.

Lamoni knows how to make a good dinner.

Lamoni made blueberry sweet rolls for mother's day.

For Mother's Day, Charity, my mom and I met up at the open space next to the river to go on a walk. It was the first time in 2 months that we had spent time in person together! It was sooo nice. Quarantine is not easy.

We video called Faith in too.

I brought Liam so they could actually see him. 2 months makes a big difference in a baby's life!

Lamoni makes me the best food. This was the Mother's Day breakfast omelet he made me.

These boys are such good friends. I asked Benjamin the other day what his favorite thing is to do and he said, "Play with Peter."

We are slowly venturing out to do more things together. Here the cousins are playing outside at Grandma's house for the first time since COVID.

This is our renter, Sabrina and her fiance, Riley. It was so nice to have them here while we were stuck at home every night. We had tons of game nights and so much fun.

Lamoni made the boys swords and shields.

Benjamin is such a help with Liam.

We went on a fun trip! First we headed up to the Jemez mountains to go hiking and then we went up to Grandma and Bampa's house to help them fix up their house to rent. We got to see cousins and work hard. Fun comes with a price, though. Lamoni had to get tested when we came back because we were in a "hot spot" for corona and had to work from home til the test results came back. He went up again a few weeks later and had to repeat the whole process... and that wasn't even leaving the state!

It felt so so nice to be out in nature, especially after being cooped up in our house so much.

We waded at the top of a waterfall. Peter stripped right down and got in.

Benjamin and Lamoni venturing close to the waterfall. It drops off between those rocks behind them.

It was soooo nice to be out and get fresh air.

Liam and baby Joseph got to meet. They're just a few weeks apart.

These kids played from sun up to sun down every day.

Bampa and both his baby grandsons.

Benjamin got to help take apart a deck. The boys felt very grown up.

Grandma rewarding their hard work at night with ice cream and a movie.

Lamoni entertaining the kids with stories of super heroes.

At Grandma Kara's house watching a movie. His favorite activity.

Peter has been interested in writing.

I thought this was a great picture of Lamoni wiping Peter. :0)

Benjamin made this "Dragon Loves Tacos" sword and shield for Peter's birthday. He definitely got into the spirit of giving and couldn't wait for Peter's birthday so he could open it!

Peter picked fruit loops for his birthday cereal.

Lamoni has higher standards than birthday cereal.

I could count on one hand the number of times Peter has fallen asleep while watching something. This was his birthday morning. I let him watch a show in the morning as a treat. He had stayed up so late and gotten up early out of excitement for his birthday that he was exhausted!

Benjamin decorated the house for his party.

We just had a family get-together for his party because of COVID. He was really sad but we were glad that we could even have any sort of get-together.

He wanted a Dragon Loves Tacos cake.

The birthday boys!

We're upgrading to undies in the yard now that he's 4 (he usually strips down to nothing). It's been a hard transition.

Some friends of ours were getting rid of their jumper and offered it to us. I assumed it would be a boy one since that family only has boys, but nope! It's pink!

Lamoni drew Sonic for Peter (the top one) so Lamoni drew the red one. I can't remember his name. Can you believe how good it is?!

Every year I buy a tart from a friend of ours because it's Lamoni's favorite. He usually eats 80% of it and one time I got in trouble for offering a slice to his brother! I think his love language is tarts.

One Sunday we drove to Los Lunas to go on a family walk by the river.

Grace came to visit!

This is such a sweet note that Benjamin wrote to Peter for his birthday. It says "Dear Peter, Thank you for being my favorite. You help me to be brave when I am scared. You help me to understand how fun it can be to have joy. Thank you for being in my family. Love, Benjamin"
