June

Benjamin got an "oops" haircut this month. Lamoni tried buzzing it on #3 but it wasn't working (probably because his hair is too fine). He doesn't have a #2 so he tried #1 and an almost bald baby was the result. We're hoping it comes in thicker to at least get a positive out of a mistake.

Cleaning up the chalk he wrote with on the wall.

Fun at the park

This is his first official "drawing". Note the big circles, little circles, lines and "b's". He loves to write B (the one that is actually legible is mine. :-)

Loving on baby Katheryn for the first time.

Watering the plants is a favorite.

Lamoni's Father's Day breakfast. Or rather, Father's Day feast. Blueberry pancakes and blueberry syrup, hashbrowns, bacon, fruit salad, eggs, sourdough toast, juice... Am I missing anything? It took me 2 hours. I had a lot of make up time to do for not cooking since his birthday. JK ;-) The poster in the background is a drawing Lamoni did for primary sharing time for me - pin the tie on the dad.

Charity had me come over a couple of times to watch Katheryn so she could sleep. I was very proud of myself the first time when I got both babies asleep!

"Hold Katheryn. Please. Katheryn on lap."

All five cousins got to play at our house with some fun babysitters while the four parents went to a wedding reception where Faith and Jason performed.

This is one reason why Uncle Michael is so adored.

Brave Tiffani took both boys shopping on her own.

Receiving a "don't eat crayons" lecture. Naked. We try to keep him pant-less for potty training while we're home and I'm not teaching - which ends up being very inconsistent. He'll go in the potty chair as long as he doesn't have a diaper on and we remind him constantly. He's not to the point where he'll tell us when he needs to go, though. He will grab a diaper and beg for me to put it on him. That tells me he better potty train quickly before he gets more attached to them!

I got to sub for activity day girls while all 3 leaders were gone. It was a blast!

Cutest picture ever of family prayer.

A dose of political satire that Lamoni and I came up with.

20 months old

When Benjamin is coughing or gagging, he reaches behind himself and pats his back. It must be from Michael because he's the only one I know that pats him on his back.

He names parts of the bow and "cello". Today he had his baby on his lap for cello "practice" and used the baby's hand to tell me all the parts of the bow!

He pretends to write different letters and words on his paper. He can draw circles and lines on command and does little squiggles for words.

He walked into he room yesterday and said: "Mama's keys. Daddy said, "Where'd you get Mama's keys?" He used a different tone for daddy's voice.

He calls me "Hope." When he's serious he will look at us like he is 20 years older and say "Lamoni." or "Hope." with a tone that says "really??" Or when he's in his crib and wants out he will yell "Hope! Want up or down! Hoooope! Want up or down!" For some reason he says up or down. It's probably from me asking him all the time if he wants up or down.

Conversation between me and Benjamin:
B: Wanna eat! Wanna eat!
Me: What do you want to eat?
B: Wanna eat water!

When he wants up he says "Hold you!" I tried to get him to say "Hold me" so now he'll say "Hold you me!"

I was reading him the book, "Are You My Mother?" In it, the baby bird is looking for his mother and asks all the different animals if they are his mother. Every page Benjamin excitedly pointed at me and told the baby bird "There she is! There's Mama!!"
